November 14: Ask and You Shall Receive

” . . . thy will be done.”

Have you ever noticed how often Jesus approaches people in the Gospels and says, “What do you want me to do for you?” On one hand, it is as if He never presumes to know what they need, but instead opens up their hearts to receive the grace which He can give and which they truly do need.

On the other hand, have you ever imagined that Jesus asks each of us the same question each day? It is, indeed, a question that He keeps asking us. How will we answer today? Can we make some time today to reflect what we really want and need from Him … and then ask Him for it?

Let us pray. “Our Father ….”
