May 4: God Loves Us So Much

In his Letter to the Galatians (2, 20) St. Paul says: “I live, no longer I, but Christ lives in me.” We want to live with a deep trust in and total commitment to Christ and all He stands for. One of the graces which the Eucharist gives is the gift of having Christ live, quite literally, in us. Jesus intensely wants to share the Bread of Life with us, His own Sacramental and Real Presence. He wants to nourish us, heal us, and sustain us. Most of the time, we work for food which only nourishes the body. Jesus teaches that He is the Heavenly food, who nourishes the soul and gives us eternal life in union with God in Heaven. Let us open our hearts today so that Jesus can fill them with His life-giving love. For He says: “I will not reject anyone who comes to me.”

Let us pray. “Thank you, Lord God, for the blessings you have given us. You have provided us with more than we could ever have imagined. You have surrounded us with people who always look out for us. You have given us grace upon grace in the Church and in her Sacraments. You really do love us so much. Continue to fill our hearts with deep gratitude, through Christ our Lord. Amen.”
