Como personas de fe, sabemos que la oración tiene poder. Por eso, hoy en día, estamos invitados a hacer un compromiso de rezar por nuestros prójimos, especialmente por los que no tienen alimentos, los que están enfermos, y los que han tenido que abandonar sus hogares en busca de trabajo.
Oremos. “Dios, nuestro protector y nuestra esperanza, nos dirigimos a ti en tiempos de dificultad, pero a causa de nuestros temores, muy seguido, nos olvidamos de agradecerte. Por las innumerables desconocidas bendiciones, te damos gracias. Por despertar con nosotros cuando nos hemos preparado para las tormentas y por compartir nuestro júbilo cuando el desastre es evitado, te damos gracias. Por guerras que nunca sucedieron a causa de que prevalecieron la razón y la misericordia, te damos gracias. Por las cosechas que han germinado, y por eso por los niños que hoy no saben nada de hambruna, te damos gracias. Por todas las alegrías durante este año y por los momentos cuando la luz alumbró a través de la obscuridad, te damos gracias. Cuando hemos visto más allá de nuestros pecados y la lucha contra el mal, te damos gracias. Por la gracia que nos has dado para sobrellevar las dificultades, te damos gracias. Por Cristo nuestro Señor. Amén.”

As people of faith, we know how important prayer is and what kind of power it has. On this Day of Thanksgiving, we are invited to make a commitment to praying, especially for our neighbors – including those who will have little or nothing to eat today, those who are carrying the burden of illness, and those who have had to sacrifice in any way in order to find work and provide for their families.
Let us pray. “God our protector and our hope, we turn to you so often in times of hardship, but in our struggles and fears we often forget to thank you. So, for the grace you have given us to overcome hardship and for the countless unknown blessings in our lives, we give you thanks. For walking with us as we have prepared for storms in life and for sharing our joy when disaster has been averted, we give you thanks. For wars that never happened because reason and mercy prevailed, we give you thanks. For the crops that have flourished and for the children who now, as a result, know nothing of hunger, we give you thanks. For all the nights we spent in fear, but by your grace you allowed us to see mornings filled with hope, we give you thanks. For all the joys of this year, for the moments when your light has shone through the darkness, and when the protection of angels has been by our side, we thank you. When we saw past our sin and strife and glimpsed beyond the veil at what the Kingdom truly could be, we give you thanks. For lending your ear to our every prayer and for blessing our neighbors, too, we give you thanks. Through Christ our Lord. Amén.”
