“When Jesus and the disciples drew near Jerusalem … the very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and strewed them on the road. The crowds preceding Him and those following kept crying out and saying, ‘Hosanna to the Son of David; blessed is He who come in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.'” Matthew 21, 1-11
What if everyone on the weekend of Palm Sunday, April 4-5, put a branch on the door of their house or on a window, to celebrate the Church entering into Holy Week? It could be any green branch you can get a hold of. Surely, this would help, despite the social distancing, to be “connected” as we enter into the Holiest of Weeks. Want to join? We may be physically isolated, but that does not mean we need to separated. This might be one of many ways we could remind ourselves that we are united as the body of Christ: We are the Church.
