October 28: Novena for All Souls (Day 4)

As we prepare to celebrate All Souls Day (Nov. 2), we gladly take the opportunity to pray for all the faithful departed. What an honor and important duty it is to spiritually assist the faithful departed as we offer our annual Novena for All Souls! Today, we pray in a special way for all Children and Young People who have died.

Opening Prayer: “Merciful God, during this Novena of prayer, we remember those who have died. We pray for their joyful reunion with you, their loving Creator. You raised your Son from the dead that all may share in His joyful Resurrection. So, as your Son has commanded, we reach out in prayer for the benefit of all those who have gone before us. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.”

The Rosary on Wednesday: The Glorious Mysteries (The Resurrection of Jesus, His Ascension into Heaven, the Holy Spirit Descending upon Mary and the Apostles, the Assumption of Our Lady, and her Coronation as Queen of Heaven and Earth)

Prayer for Day: “Almighty God, we pray that your Holy Spirit would come and be with us throughout this Novena, but especially as we remember all Children and Young People who have died.  We pray that your Spirit, the great Comforter, would come to our aid. We pray that the sadness and pain that come with remembering those so young would be abated and that your Son, the Prince of Peace, would spread your peace to all the world. We ask your blessing through Christ our Lord. Amen.”
