August 14-15: FACE MASKS REQUIRED

Due to the spike in COVID-19 hospitalizations being driven by the spread of the highly contagious Delta variant, Governor Brown announced a mandate requiring face masks/coverings statewide at all indoor public gatherings beginning August 13, 2021. So, effective now, face masks are required for all adults and children older than 5 gathered in all Catholic Churches in the Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon.

The use of face masks is required for all indoor faith gatherings and meetings. Social distancing and capacity limits are not currently in effect. The Archdiocesan COVID-19 Response team has consulted with faithful Catholic medical experts who have confirmed the contagious nature of the Delta variant and the dire situation of our hospital systems in Oregon. In charity, we must do our part to help stop the spread of this dangerous variant.

The pandemic has caused a strain on all of us. Restrictions and vaccinations are not 100% effective against the virus, but we have a pastoral responsibility to attempt to mitigate the risks for parishioners and school families. Thank you for your understanding and good will.
