Band at Holy Cross Catholic School

The Holy Cross Catholic School Band is offered after school for beginning and intermediate students in grades 4 – 8. The school band performs at the Christmas Program in December and the Spring Arts’ Fair in May. It is a wonderful opportunity for budding musicians to explore their musical interests in a supportive environment.
The Band Program is offered by Ethos, Inc. as part of their Music Corps program. Ethos, based in North Portland, provides quality, affordable music lessons to Portland’s underserved communities. The Music Corp program is conducted at the school and is offered to participating schools at a very reasonable price.
At Holy Cross, participating families are asked to contribute a portion of the cost of lessons. Students commit to the Band Program for the duration of the school year. The cost per student to enroll in band is $ 4 per lesson ($120 per year). In addition, the band students are responsible for renting their own instrument. New students have an opportunity to preview different instruments at the first class. Reasonably-priced instrument rental can be obtained at a number of music stores around town.
