Hello mathematicians!  I am Mrs. DeFrancia, and I am so excited to rejoin the Holy Cross community for the second year.  This year I will continue teaching math to our middle schoolers, but I will also be the 7th grade homeroom teacher alongside Mrs. Louie.

Originally, I come from a small town in California just south of San Jose. I spent my childhood counting cows, cars, and clouds on my way to school. That love for counting random objects transformed over time into a love for math, and eventually, for teaching math.  I graduated from the University of Portland with a degree in education and then received my Master's degree through UP's PACE program.

I've spent the last 9 years teaching middle school math here in Portland where my students continue to bring me joy, laughter, and inspiration. Letting students discover the "whys" behind mathematics is my passion, and I look forward to seeing the many "aha" moments in the year to come.
