The Garaventa Center on the Campus of the University of Portland sponsors many Adult Education opportunities these are held in various buildings on the Campus. They also offer different types of prayer experiences with the community. This is a chance to hear from professors and leaders in the educational community.
Tuesday November 5th, 7:15 PM, Franz Hall Room 120: Walking with Two Feet of Love: Following in the Footsteps of Dorothy Day to End Homelessness. Dr. Linda Plitt Donaldson of James Madison University examines the life of Dorothy Day and focuses on evidence-based practices to end homelessness. Co-sponsored by the Garaventa Center and UP Social Work.
Monday November 11th at 2 pm in the Buckley Peace Garden: Prayers for Peace: Join with UP students, faculty and staff to offer public calls for peace in multiple languages. Co-sponsored by the Garaventa Center and International Student Services.
Thursday, December 12, 12:35 pm after noon Mass Chapel of Christ the Teacher: Advent Visio Divina is an ancient form of Christian prayer in which we allow our hearts and imaginations to enter into a sacred illumination from The Saint John’s Bible, in silence to see what God might have to say to us. Co-sponsored by the Garaventa Center and Campus Ministry.
