September 25: Good News!

On Thursday evening, Fr. Mark received a call from his surgeon and the report was: 100% success! The combination of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery have proven to be, as they say, “just what the doctor ordered!” Fr. Mark tells us that this medical combination was obviously encouraged and reinforced by a lot of your prayers and loving support, for which he is endlessly grateful. He asks that we include in our prayers all of those still in the hospital and the many members of his team (nurses, nurses’ assistants, doctors, and others) who were supremely generous in caring for him while he was preparing for, in, and recovering from surgery.

“Almighty God, you are the source of health and healing, the spirit of calm, and the central peace of the whole universe. We ask that you might fill us with such an awareness of your grace and presence that we may have complete confidence in you. In all pain, weariness, and anxiety may we rest in your protecting care; may we know ourselves to be encircled by your loving power and surrounded by the love of our brothers and sisters, so that we may allow you to give us health, strength, and peace, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.”

Mark 2,1-12 The paralyzed man’s friends brought him to Jesus. When he was healed, they were astounded and glorified God.
