What makes Catholic education distinctive among school systems? Catholic education’s distinctiveness is rooted in Baptism. Baptism unites us with Jesus Christ, the Light of the World, and makes us members of His Body, the Church.
Catholic schools, like our own here at Holy Cross, share the Church’s mission to bring the light of Christ’s Good News to the world. Everything we do is about bringing the light of Christ’s Gospel to student learning in all its dimensions. We are called to let the joy of our faith shine through the gifts and talents we bring to our labors. We are challenged to bring out the best in one another and in the children entrusted to our care.
Our faith assures us that, even in our limitations, Christ continues to work through us and to bring us to maturity as His disciples. He is here, walking with us in our day-to-day activities, providing the grace we need to be His light for one another. His friendship is unshakeable, and this makes all the difference in our lives. It gives meaning to everything we do, and turns our work into something unique, distinctive, and beautiful – into “ministry,” despite our imperfections.
As we work, learn and grow, may all that we do in our school and in our parish give others cause to marvel at the blessings God continues to pour out on His people through us.

Las Escuelas Católicas, y en especial nuestra escuela parroquial, son un gran regalo para nuestros jóvenes y sus padres. Muchas familias nunca tuvieron la oportunidad de recibir una Educación Católica, peros estamos tratando de abrir a las puertas más y más cada día.
Agradecemos a Dios que cualquier persona que reciba una Educación Católica puede descubrir, como escribió St. John Newman, que el conocimiento de Dios es la disciplina de estudio más importante debido a que es la base de todas las artes y las ciencias. Nos permite explorar la dignidad del ser humano, así como también el misterio del mal y el misterio mucho más grande que es la salvación en Cristo.
Nuestras Escuelas Católicas son el hogar para la Evangelización, la catequesis, y el discipulado – las cuales apoyan a los padres en su misión como los primeros educadores de sus hijos en la fe. La Escuela Católica es donde podemos aprender que tenemos que amar a Dios sobre todas las cosas y a nuestro prójimo como a nosotros mismos. Favor de pedir por todos nuestros estudiantes, sus padres, y nuestros maestros, para que siempre puedan permanecer cercanos a nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
