Parking Lot Rosary (Thursday, September 17th)

In the 12th century, St. Bernard of Clairvaux added this brief phrase to the very traditional prayer known as the Memorare: “O Clement, O Loving, O Sweet Virgin Mary.” While remembered for many other contributions to the Church, one of the most important legacies which St. Bernard left us is this: he taught his brother monks (and still teaches us) how to live a life dedicated to Mary, with her as our model.
St. Bernard once offered a beautiful meditation about the Blessed Mother which included these words: “While she holds your hand, you cannot fall; under her protection you have nothing to fear; if she walks before you, you shall not grow weary; when she shows you favor, you shall reach the goal.” As our pastor, Fr. Mark, prepares for his surgery this week and as we pray for all those who are presently ill, let us make the words St. Bernard our own: “O Clement, O Loving, O Sweet Virgin Mary, pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.”
Our parish prayer group God’s Girls is “hosting” a  Parking Lot Rosary Thursday, September 17th at 10am. Prayers will be offered especially for Fr. Mark’s intention and the intention of his medical team. Please join us! Park your cars in the lot facing the old Convent (please don’t park by the school building).  You can stay in your cars as members of God’s Girls lead the Rosary from near the Marian Garden. If the smoke is still present and a danger, join us in praying from home and “in spirit.”
