La Iglesia Católica Santa Cruz está muy emocionada de ser parte de su vida y de tenerle a usted como parte de nuestra vida. Updates

Mask use in our parish church is optional but recommended. Masks are recommended in order to protect the more vulnerable in our community, like children and those with compromised immunities. If you are sick in any way or even feeling a little “under the weather,” please stay home! Our concern is for your good health and the good health of those in the pews around you. Thank you.

What's Happening

September 25-26: The Light of the World / La Luz del Mundo

In Luke 8, 16-18, Jesus talks about God’s Word as something which cannot (and must not) be hidden. We are not a “mystery religion” in the sense that the Gospel is only for a small group of “insiders.” As Jesus says it, eh Gospel message is to be proclaimed “from the housetops.” We understand Jesus […]

September 24: The Day of the Lord

Psalm 145 reminds us today that “the Lord is just in all His ways, gracious and merciful.” The Prophet Isaiah’s words (spoken on behalf of the Lord God) probably ought to be understood in light of the Psalm: “My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord. “As high […]

September 23-24: Preparing to Celebrate Sunday’s Mass

It is always true that reading the Scriptures before coming to Mass is not only wise, but also a great way to “get more out of the Mass.” We might also add that it is a great way to put more into the Mass! (If you need help: https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/092423.cfm) The teaching of Jesus is clear […]

September 23: St. Pius of Pietrelcina / San Pio de Pietrelcina

The Church remembers today the Italian Franciscan priest St. Pio of Pietrelcina, better known as “Padre Pio” and known too for his suffering, humility, and miracles. As a child, he was named Francesco Forgione and at age 10 he felt inspired by the example of a young Capuchin Franciscan. The young Francesco told his parents, […]

September 22: Deeply Grateful

Pope Francis has said, “The Church must be a place of mercy freely given, where everyone can feel welcomed, loved, forgiven, and encouraged to live the good life of the Gospel.” It is important for us to remember that we cannot work our way into Heaven. By our own unaided strength we can never do […]
