July 9th, 2020: Adoration

“When you look at the Crucifix, you understand how much Jesus loved you then. When you look a the Sacred Host, you understand how much Jesus loves you now.”                    St. Teresa of Calcutta

Please join us throughout the summer for Eucharistic Adoration in the Marian Garden. We will be gathering on Thursdays from noon to 1pm and again from 8 to 9pm. Remain in your vehicle, kneel on the grass, or bring a lawn chair.

What are some of the tried and true devotional practices which can help us during Adoration? Look at God, and let Him look at you. Tell Jesus something that made you happy. Then listen. Tell Him what you are afraid of. Then listen. Tell Him what angers you. Then listen. Speak about your loved ones and what their needs are today. Enjoy just being in Christ’s Presence. Thank Him for the countless blessings in your life.

Consider that the Sacred Body of Jesus came from Holy Mary. Thank her. Pray the Rosary and ask Mary to lead you to her Son. If you can’t pray 15 decades, pray five decades. If you can’t pray five decades, pray one decade. If you can’t pray one decade, pray one Hail Mary very slowly and thoughtfully. If you can’t pray one Hail Mary, say “Holy Mary,” like a little child saying “Momma.” Pray as you can, not as you can’t.

For a time, don’t DO anything. Be with Christ, as a friend, while He shows you how much He loves you now.
