January 12: Adoration

Whether as a private prayer or shared with others, but still in quiet contemplation, the practice of Eucharistic Adoration invites us to pray in the presence of Jesus Christ under His appearance in the consecrated Host.

During Adoration, you may wish to sit or kneel in silence, simply heightening your awareness of the presence of God around you and His most intimate Presence in the Sacrament. The possibilities are numerous. For example: have a conversation with Jesus; pray the Rosary; reflect on the Scriptures or other spiritual reading.

While the Eucharist is “exposed,” someone must always keep vigil before Christ in the church. We would love to schedule at least two people for each hour on Thursdays from 8:30am to 8:30pm. Please let us know in the parish office if you would like to make a commitment to a particular hour of prayer in Adoration.

“Holy God, we praise thy name; Lord of all, we bow before thee; All on earth thy scepter claim, All in heaven above adore thee. Infinite thy vast domain, Everlasting is thy reign!”
