Holy Week

How can we “make the most” of the most unique Holy Week we’ve ever experienced? Distance Learning, Zoom calls, web resources more numerous than we could have ever imagined … there is so much “out there.” Be sure to take advantage of resources like these:

  • Our own parish website! Click on the GROW tab and click again on Religious Education. Our own Andrea Swanson has posted not only many ways to enter into Holy Week, but really fun and engaging prayers, reflections, and activities. Check them out!

  • Also, our fellow parishioner Stevie Rhodes passed along this gem of a website:

https://www.faithandfamilycollective.com/ The site was created to help families celebrate Holy Week. Together, the creators have over 30 years of ministry experience with children, teens, adults, and families. Normally, they would charge for a subscription to a program such as Holy Week at Home, but given the circumstances of this pandemic, they have decided to provide it free, just asking that a participant join their mailing list. It is easy to subscribe and you will find a wealth of great ideas for Holy Week. Enjoy!

  • The Servite Priests at the Grotto are also making available a “virtual” experience of the Grotto:

  • The Sophia Institute for Teachers is providing a wealth or resources, too. They acknowledge that “we have been encouraged to build up our “Domestic Church” and celebrate this coming week in a way that recalls the mystery of our Salvation. Every year, we need the graces of Holy Week, and this year we need it even more. So, to help you, we have put together a collection of activities and prayers, and some inspiration to start new traditions. Don’t try to do too much. Pray about what would work for you and for your family. Be sure to ask the Holy Spirit to guide you.
