Our friends at Catholic Charities have reached out to say:
“Regardless of how different Easter was this year, we are indeed an Easter people! May the glory and the promise of this celebratory time of year bring peace and joy to all of you in Holy Cross Parish.”
They also want everyone to know that, for those in the parish experiencing the ripple effects of this pandemic, Catholic Charities is committed to helping. Although their building is closed and they are operating remotely, THEY ARE STILL OPEN.
The following is contact information which they have provided:
Family Support & Counseling: 503-238-5196
Housing Transitions: 971-222-1880
Immigration Legal Services: 503-542-2855
Refugee Services: 971-222-1883
Save First Financial Wellness: 503-688-2659
Other Services: 503-231-4866
To stay connected, Catholic Charities is getting creative and adjusting their strategies. For instance, during their spring appeal, there is typically an outreach component with a second collection in the pews. Due to COVID-19, they will not be mailing second collection envelopes this year; however, they will be in touch with us, providing another way to work together – #GivingTuesdayNow.
#GivingTuesdayNow, is already a global day of giving and unity and will take place on May 5, 2020 as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. We are all invited to spread the word about supporting Catholic Charites on #GivingTuesdayNow. Much more to come. For now, thank you.
