6th Grade, MS Language Arts, Ms. Kathy Gritzmacher

I am very honored to join the Holy Cross School faith community. I am returning to the old neighborhood where both of my grandparents were members of the parish and my father graduated from Holy Cross School in 1934.

For the past 40 years I have shared my teaching ministry in the Archdiocese of Portland. During those years I have taught all middle school subjects. I understand that proficiency in the language arts curriculum paves the way for all curriculum areas and helps insure a successful middle school experience.

As a Holy Cross Middle School teacher I will recognize the language arts curriculum as the heart of learning. Through differentiated learning strategies students will develop all components of the curriculum. Using effective learning tools students will work individually and cooperatively to become proficient readers and writers establishing the foundation of
life-long learning.
