Seton Scholar at Holy Cross!

Holy Cross Catholic School is so proud of our 6th grade student, Cielo, who was chosen as a Seton Scholar by the National Catholic Education Association. Cielo and her mom were flown to Washington, D.C. to receive the award at the NCEA Gala Dinner. Congratulations Cielo!!

Giving Tuesday is coming up on November 29, 2016!

What, you say, is Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday, celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, kicks off the charitable season by using social media and other resources to encourage businesses and individuals to support local charities. Since its inaugural year in 2012, #GivingTuesday has become a global movement that celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy.

Holy Cross has joined the movement! We’ve signed on with Oregonians Give and hope that you will take Giving Tuesday as a an opportunity to donate to the amazing community at HCCS.

Holy Cross Catholic School is #1 in the state of Oregon for the most minutes read in the Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge. This is the 4th year in a row where Holy Cross is the #1 school in the state of Oregon!! Great job students. Remember - readers are leaders!!

Mrs. D Receives National Honor

Suzanne DeVaney-Wilkes, known fondly by her students as Ms. D, was recognized as a Distinguished Teacher by the National Catholic Education Association for her 5 state region! This is a competitive process and there are only 12 Distinguished Teachers nationally. Holy Cross Catholic School is blessed to have such a talented and committed teacher!!

New Paint Job!

Many thanks to the UP volunteers! At Holy Cross School approximately 80 business students (juniors) from the University of Portland worked all day Saturday, October 1 to paint the school’s gymnasium!

Holy Cross School Centennial

The school begins observing its centennial, which will include 100 good deeds done by students, displays, a May 19 gathering of alumni and friends, a new website and a special Mass. Theme of the centennial will be "Educating Hearts and Minds for 100 Years." [more information]
